Our Story

Since 2008, Downtown Eagle Colorado has been in a funk. The recession hit our businesses hard. And Eagle residences found more jobs up Valley and tended to avoid Broadway Street. So a few Downtown business and property owners got together and formed the Revitalization of Broadway Committee in 2017. The primary goal: To provide business support and promote economic vitality through communication, events and marketing.

The first project to be created and executed was the 2ND Friday ARTwalks, now managed by EagleARTS. Every second Friday the Downtown businesses are encouraged to stay open longer, host artists in their lobbies and participate in other creative activities. And within the first year of these grassroots efforts, 2ND Friday ARTwalks became the most successful night OF THE MONTH for most of our Downtown businesses.

In April of 2019, the Town of Eagle along with a couple Downtown stakeholders, participated in Downtown Colorado, Inc’s (DCI) Challenge Accelerator Program. After the four-day conference, the stakeholders strengthened their relationship with the Town of Eagle and gained knowledge to take the revitalizing efforts to the next level.

One take away from the conference was to turn the Revitalization of Broadway Committee into the Downtown Business Alliance, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Growing participation from the business and property owners and increased support and guidance from Town staff led to our formation in May of 2019.

In December 2019, the Town enlisted DCI to assess the Economic Vitality of Eagle. In their report they recommended the formation of a Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to support Downtown and Eagle’s strategic development objectives. Shortly after the Town Council passed a resolution supporting the findings of the DCI report and in November of 2020, electors voted to approve the creation of Eagle's DDA.
